About this site and the author

This site

This site will hopefully provide all the information you'll ever need regarding metrics, definitions, calculation methods and buying methods in online advertising.

My two goals with this site are:

  1. To make all thinkable information about metrics in online advertising more easily available online
  2. To have an annual revenue of at least 10 USD to cover all the expenses

The first mentioned goal is the primary one =)

The author

This site is developed by Svend A. Sylling from Norway. My background is from both sides of the online media industry.

I was Traffic Manager at VG Nett, Norways largest online newspaper, from 2006 to 2012.

From 2012 to 2014 I was Head of Traffic in the media agency Carat in Norway.

In February 2014 I became Marketing Technology Manager in Dentsu Aegis Network, the parent company of media agencies Carat and Vizeum, among others.

Starting from August 2015 I am Digital Product and Business Developer at the media house Budstikka.Media.

Besides this I have been involved in several other (and minor) websites, projects and companies since the late 90s, as webmaster, editor-in-chief, developer and CEO.

From 2008 to 2012 I was a member of the online industry's method group for web statistics in Norway, representing VG Nett.

I've been using Google Analytics since the service became fully available to all users in 2006 and have passed the Google Analytics Individual Qualification.

Though not a pure developer, I've got some technical experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL, which all has been used to create what you are looking at right now.
